Guatemala sits in Central Time year-round, which overlaps cleanly with US business hours across most of the day - a real advantage over most of Latin America's nomad hubs further south, where the time difference eats into overlap with US clients or teams.

Antigua's Spanish-language schools bring a constant flow of longer-stay students and remote workers, which means an actual community rather than a one-night tourist crowd - easier to meet people if you're staying a few weeks or more.
